CASE STUDY
HUMANE SOCIETY OF STANISLAUS COUNTY
The Humane Society of Stanislaus County (HSSC) is a growing 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue, welfare, and education organization. They primarily service at-risk animals in Stanislaus County and the rescue is solely run by volunteers. They approached me to update their look in order to help attract younger volunteers and bring in more donations.
UPDATED LOGO AND COLOR PALETTE
The original logo colors and fonts felt dated so I explored modern fonts and colors. I knew I wanted to include purple, which is the color that represents Animal Abuse Awareness and is a big part of what the Humane Society stands for. I explored different icons to help represent their mission of finding loving homes for animals.
BUSINESS CARD REDESIGN
The previous business card was in need of a refresh. Since HSSC is run by volunteers they are in constant need of help. Business cards are handed out more often than brochures so I suggested utilizing the back of the card to highlight some of the volunteer opportunities available.
BROCHURE DESIGN AND CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
The previous brochure focused mostly on membership options and donation solicitation but didn't do a good job of explaining what HSSC does on a daily basis. The design needed a complete makeover to give it more energy and an attention grabbing look. The design highlighted animals that were available for adoption at the time and focused on all the various volunteer opportunities.
